Ayurvedica is a food-scanning and Ayurvedic wellness app. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and how you can control or remove it.
Information we collect

| Health & body details | Your Ayurvedic dosha quiz answers and resulting Vata/Pitta/Kapha profile, and any optional body details you enter — height, weight, age, biological sex, dietary preference. |
| Scan activity | Product barcodes you scan, photographs of ingredient labels (used once to extract the ingredient list, then discarded — we store the resulting text analysis, not the photo), and your scan history. |
| Subscription status | Whether you have an active subscription and which plan, managed through Apple and RevenueCat. |
How we use it
- To calculate your Ayurvedic dosha profile and score how products affect it.
- To read ingredient labels from your photos and analyse them (see "Third parties" below).
- To generate your weekly meal plans and monthly Ayurvedic reports.
- To provide, maintain, and improve the app, and to enforce free-tier scan limits.
Third parties we share data with
AI service provider — ingredient label photos and quiz answers are sent to a third-party AI provider that reads the labels and scores the ingredients. The provider processes this data only to generate the response and does not use it to train its models.
Apple — for Sign in with Apple and to process App Store subscription payments.
RevenueCat — to manage and verify subscription status across your devices.
Open Food Facts — a public, open database we query by barcode to fetch product name, brand, and nutrition labels. Only the barcode is sent; no personal data.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Data storage & security
Your data is stored on servers we operate, encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Access is restricted to what the app itself needs to function.
Your rights
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete Account inside the app. This removes your account, dosha profile, scan history, meal plans, and reports immediately. You can also request deletion, correction, or a copy of your data by emailing us (below).
Deleting your account does not cancel an active Apple subscription — that's managed separately through your Apple ID account settings.
Children
Ayurvedica is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the date at the top of this page if this policy changes materially.
